How to create a video element

When you add a video element, you are given the option to import your own video or embed one from YouTube.

JumpLMS supports MP4 videos, H.264 video codec and we recommend you use 16:9 aspect ratio.

To add a video element into your course, follow these instructions:

1. Click on the Courses tab.

2. Search for the course you want to add the element to or find it in the list.

3. If you’re using a touchscreen device, click the course’s thumbnail or if you’re using a computer, hover the cursor over the certificate’s thumbnail.

4. Click Edit course.

5. Click on the Content tab.

6. Click on Add Video to add the element to the end of the course structure or drag and drop it to the desired place. Then click Edit.

7. Enter a title and description for the element.

If you want to import your own video into your Resource Library:

8. Select to Play a video from your library.

9. Click Select a video from your library to open your Resource Library.

10. Double click the folder where you want to import the video to, or single click it and click Open.

11. Click Import and browse to the location of your video, or drag and drop the video directly into the drop zone.

12. When the video has finished importing, click it and click Select.

13. You can set the completion criteria for this element in the Settings panel by selecting the appropriate option from the Complete element when dropdown.

14. Click Preview Element if you want to see how the element will look in the course.

15. Click Add Element.

If you want to use a video from YouTube:

8. Select to Play a video from YouTube.

9. In order to embed the correct video, you need to enter its YouTube video ID. To find this, open the video on the YouTube website and look at the address bar, the video ID is the string of characters that appear after the “=” symbol. Copy all these characters and paste them into the YouTube Video ID text box in JumpLMS.

10. Click Update video.

12. Click Preview Element if you want to see how the element will look in the course.

13. Click Add Element.

The video element will now be part of your course.
